The second edition is a complete update of the original best-selling production, with more graphics, twice the information and longer running time. Anatomy For Artists: The Human Form Revealed is one in a series of three videos on anatomy produced by On Air Video specifically targeting the needs of artists and art students.
This video provides a base of knowledge about human anatomy as it relates to the artist. The program is divided into several chapters. The first two chapters deal with human mechanics and proportions including how muscles work, muscle naming conventions and the importance of the skeletal system in defi ning the body's appearance. This is followed by a survey of the body starting with the neck, shoulder and arms, the torso, the pelvic region and the lower extremities.
Each section focuses on specific bones, the muscles, muscle function and mechanics, and major surface forms. Along the way, key landmarks are also highlighted.
This video draws on a variety of resources including animation, diagrams, live action, and an immense collection of time-honored anatomical illustrations by Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Durer, Albinus, Vesalius and others.
